Interactive, international street artist and illustrator Kelsey Montague will create a unique street art mural and online campaign titled #WhatUnitesUs on an outside wall of the new Il Posto Restaurant at the corner of Larimer and 26th in RiNo. Targeted completion by January 20th.
Montague’s mural will be interactive, meaning people are encouraged to stand in front of the piece so they look like they are part of the art. The hashtag on the piece will encourage people to take a picture and put the image in the #WhatUnitesUs hashtag on social media. Montague wants people to reflect on our similarities, instead of our differences.
Kelsey has taken inspiration for this piece from her #WhatLiftsYou movement, originating in Manhattan with large-scale murals of her iconic wings. Celebrities including Taylor Swift and Vanessa Hudgens posed with the street art wings while media outlets like Mashable, MTV, Forbes and Refinery 29 have featured her work, making the artwork an overnight sensation.
Montague and the RiNo Art District invite you to come down, take a picture of the piece, post it online and reflect on ways we can come together.
